Volunteering

Oregon Partnership is always on the lookout for committed volunteers. Bring your experience and interests to one of our program areas, and make a positive difference in someonešs life. Here are some of the areas where you can help:

Crisis Lines - Suicide Prevention:  Enroll in our HelpLine/LifeLine training program; learn to answer calls on our 24-hour confidential service.

YouthLine:  Are you a teen interested in learning about substance abuse issues? Take calls on our peer YouthLine. Find out what it means when we say this program is about "Teens Helping Teens".

Resource Library:  Are you a closet bibliophile? Work with our Resource Library staff on cataloguing new materials; work with various departments to prepare for events and presentations; help out with bulk mailing efforts, including distribution of our newsletters.

Education Office Assistant: Work with the Education Department on specific tasks including general administrative support, preparing materials for events, trainings etc., data input and proofreading materials

Administrative Assistant: Assist the Office Coordinator on specific tasks such as managing and updating the Resource Center database and filling of requests for materials, ordering and stocking library materials, preparing materials for events, trainings etc. and general administrative support

Parents Teaching Prevention Office Assistant: Work with the Parenting Programs Director to coordinate curriculum materials for use within the PTP program, prepare all materials for in class use/implementation of PTP program in the schools, build PTP manuals needed for new PTP facilitators and coordinate and assist PTP volunteers

Parents Teaching Prevention Facilitator: Report to the Parenting Programs Director for specific tasks including learning and understanding PTP and its importance in our schools, planning and prepare PTP lessons and coordinating and delivery of PTP to elementary school aged youth

Creative Design: Work with the Creative Director to help design newsletters, help manage/design Oregon Partnership's website, assist with the marketing of special events, assist with the designing and printing of materials and creating marketing collateral

You Can Make a Difference

  • Get involved with your local prevention coalition..
  • Invite Oregon Partnership to make a presentation at your local school, business, church, or community center..
  • Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. Contact us if you need ideas to get started.
